Lady Hunters
Once upon a time, three mothers killed a wolf:
Three best friends, on a moms’ weekend retreat to the Adirondacks, learn a heinous gang rapist has been released from prison nearby. Incensed by the atrocious nature of the crime against a teenaged girl, and incarceration of only one of the perpetrators, the women find themselves novice killers and arbiters of justice.

Angela Atwood is a Missouri-born, Buffalo-bred, NYC-based writer, director, actor, and producer, member of NYWIFT, graduate of the William Esper Studio, and Raising Two Remarkable Human Beings. Her production company, Plaid Dog LLC, created the sizzle reel for her feature screenplay, Wendy (Official Top 10 Drama Finalist in the New York Screenplay Contest
2016); the short film Freebie (winner Best Romantic Drama, Manhattan Film Festival 2016); co-produced the web series pilot 5A-5B in 2017 (Season 1 funded and filming Spring 2018); and Lady Hunters. She’s eternally grateful to the William Esper Studio, her four years in Bill Esper’s Master Class, his and Suzanne Esper’s constant loving artistic endorsement, where she’s an
administrator at the world-renowned acting studio, supporting her writing, acting, and filmmaking career until she can both eat and pay rent doing what she loves – telling stories and melting faces.
Lady Hunters began as a conversation between my great friend Lara Buck (co-star / co-executive producer) and I, in response to the then new news about Bill Cosby. Thanks to the PANAVISION New Filmmaker Grant and my terrific DP Lauretta Prevost (this is our fourth project together), we were able to tell a story that’s been a very long time coming, with remarkable equipment, stunning footage, and beautiful performances by a truly ensemble cast.
