Ladyfest Atlanta serves as an intentional, queer, feminist space for women and gender nonconforming people. The annual festival brings together Atlanta-based artists, innovators and activists to share their work and speak out on local issues. Our mission is to celebrate and encourage community while also precipitating critical dialogue and education around anti-oppression work and action in Atlanta, especially as it relates to gender-centered oppression.

This years weekend long festival will include 2 nights of short film blocks, curated features and talkbacks with the filmmakers, as well as panels showcasing successful women in the Atlanta Film Industry.

There is certainly no shortage of women, trans and gender non-conforming people doing impressive and important things all over this city. Unfortunately, many spaces dedicated to art and film around Atlanta primarily serve and exhibit men’s works. We are actively seeking to change the landscape of the Atlanta art scene to be more inclusive and more representative.

Our goal is to precipitate critical and needed dialogue around the intersections of sexism, racism and classism in the arts communities of Atlanta.
