After the national service in France, Verrechia studied Film at Paris Nanterre University and la Cinémathèque française under Jean Rouch, and performed at Théâtre des Amandiers. He started working as a sound engineer before graduating with Honors in Film & TV from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. He assisted fashion photographers while working as a camera assistant on union films. He speaks English, French, and Spanish. His work is defined by his strong empathy for his characters, and by his commitment to people’s singular perspectives. Verrechia created the studios Casa Kurrak in Baja California, and founded the Festival de Cine del Valle de Guadalupe®.
