LUCÍA
LUCÍA is a short dance film that immerses itself in the mythology of the martyr and reinterprets her figure through dance and shibari. Under the artistic and choreographic direction of Verònica Hernández Royo, choreographer and director of Cia La Dama, together with the artistic direction in shibari of Alberto Moral and with the photography and production direction of Christopher Picón, LUCÍA embodies the process of sanctification experienced by the martyr in her passage from woman to saint. The dancers of La Dama star in a whole ritual that starts from purity and evolves to eroticism, rejection, torture, passes through revelation, fear, acceptance and culminates in the glorification of the woman's body.

La dama dance company, directed and choreographed by Verónica Hernández Royo, began training in 2018, after the choreographer's trip to Israel, where she had the opportunity to learn the language of the gaga movement, created and developed by the choreographer and artistic director from Batsheva Dance Company, Ohad Naharin, the Suzanne Dellal Center, in Tel-Aviv. Trained in ballroom dancing, classical dance, urban dance and contemporary dance, she began the company living in Paris, where she developed her theoretical choreographic project. Currently based in Barcelona, doctoral student in Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature, she is preparing a thesis in the Department of Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature at the University of Barcelona, where she studies the relationships of the body, movement, dance and theory of literature.
La Dama was born from the implementation of these theoretical questions and these years of work that have led this group of dancers to develop a whole praxis arising from theoretical research. Their pieces have been awarded both nationally and internationally and have had the opportunity to dance at events such as:
