LOVERUN has been a project I've been working on since high school for over 4 years as I enter my last year of university, it's truly incredible to see this story that once seemed so far-fetched materialize. I wanted to create something that captures queer joy and love as often, in LGBTQ+ art, we see trauma and pain. I wanted to create something that broke from those molds. I wanted to create something that has been seen before but only through a straight lens; I strived to create an LGBTQ+ romcom that was full of joy and life. Queer happiness and joy shouldn't still be revolutionary to see on film, but unfortunately, it still is. I want the future to be filled with other queer-focused romcoms. I want to see more art like mine in the hope that it helps those growing up. I want teens growing up to see that their stories and lives can be filled with happiness and joy, too. That they can see a character just like them experiencing happiness and love in life.
