LOST IN TIME

Early autumn,a mother lived a single life. Her son who was back from Beijing went to buy a lighter and had a car accident.
Years later, the mother goes to grave to celebrate her son’s birthday. When trying to light up the cake candles, she finds she doesn’t bring a lighter. Meanwhile, she sees her son return.

Director Biography - Chuankai Ju

Ju Chuankai, born in Shandong and graduated from Communication University of Zhejiang. I work as a director in an advertising company in Beijing.
Over the years, I have been insisting on independent creation to show the emotions of people and the relationship between urban and rural areas, paying attention to the freshness of time and space, the imagination of memory and dreams.

Director Statement

"What can't be satisfied in reality, rely on fantasy to achieve."

This film is a magic realism short work, and tells about after the son died, absentminded mother sees the son again on the son's birthday, expressing the mother's longing for her son.

On the other hand, the film deals with people who have lost their only child. As they grow older, they not only lose the inheritance of life, but also have no support and basic guarantee in the life. The state, the government and the whole society should face up to the existence of this group. How to help them and with what kind of attitude to treat them is really related to social stability and considers the civilization of a country.
