Private Project

LISTEN

LISTEN is a document made during the Listen To The East masterclasses in Białystok (Poland), organised by Pionierska Records and Pup Zemli. This movie shows us four days, during which participants are listening to the sounds of four different locations in Białytok, and are recording material for the concert.
The movie itself have three sound layers - rough audio from camera, with all sound and noises, music by Etyka Kurpina (the musical project, where Adam participates) and the interview made by Ioanna Sikora, recorded during the action in Zwierzyniecki Wood.
Some regular actions, which are really common for experimental musicians, which are dealing with field recording on daily basis can look strange and funny for other people, so this video is showing this world of experimental musicians and also it focuses on the philosophical aspects of contemporary music: "What is music, what is not?"

Director Statement

"I am trying not to be totally ruled by market and trends, but also build strategies based on human sciences, like philology, philosophy, anthropology of culture and so on. Being involved in international projects - workshops / exhibitions / festivals helps to be aware of Polish and wider European context and to sync Ukrainian institutions with European cultural discourse via visual and thematic contextualization of design. Because for every such experimental project You need specific skills, if needed I collaborate with another artists and professionals during the projects. In Ukrainian Pup Zemli has offensive meaning - ‚selfish person, but let’s be honest, people are selfish, but selfish can be confident and powerful. And PupZemli is about turning this power into good looking project".
