LIGHT

"LIGHT" explores the boundaries between movement, light, sound and existence. It opens with a scene where a woman lies motionless on the floor of a dark, industrial space. The ambient light reveals only faint outlines and shadows.
Gradually, the light brightens, unveiling an impressive light installation hovering above the woman. The artwork consists of a complex net of light beams that bathes the surroundings in a mesmerizing atmosphere. The woman delicately moves her finger, as if sensing the subtle connections between herself and the web of light.

As the film progresses, the relationship between the woman and the light structure grows more intense. The beams of light respond to her movement, creating an interplay of dance and illumination. "LIGHT" delves into themes of identity, existence, and the connection between the body and the environment. Through visually stunning imagery and subtle symbolism of light, audiences are invited into a world of transformation and self-discovery.

This short film blends visual art, performance, and philosophical reflection. "LIGHT" encourages viewers to contemplate the relationship between humans and their surroundings, and to explore the hidden connections that surround us.

The Project is a result of a collaboration between different artforms. The composer Chaira Dubay created with the help of several very talented classical musicians a dynamic mixture, between classical and modern music. Jess Gardolin with her background in acrobatic and contemporary dance, developed a stunning performance and Simon Husslein a visual artist and professor at the interior Arcitecure Program Head in Geneva designed a captivating light installation. The dynamic camerawork and rhythmic editing of Benedict Endler bring all the pieces together.

The location was a temporary vacated airport shop in the shopping center “the Ring” at the airport in Zurich.
