LEVGENIY is a documentary short by Asya Nikolayeva and Pavel Fedorov. This is a film about all of us: everyone who has ever been on a journey, on an adventure, chasing their private rendition of the American Dream. LEVGENIY follows a year in the life of a young Ukrainian artist Yevgeny Lapchenko, who comes to San Francisco to experience endless ups and downs, inspiration, disappointment, and ultimate love for California, Ukraine, and art.

Asya is a San Francisco-based film director, originally from Ukraine. After graduating from Kiev Film Institute, she went on to study directing in London, Moscow, and San Francisco.
Asya’s creative ambition is to find the perfect middle ground between the European tradition of storytelling and the large-scale American approach to filmmaking.
