Urban Wildlife Conservation: Los Angeles | Restoration + Recreation

The Los Angeles River is nearly 50 miles long. It weaves through the entire city and eventually winds its way into the ocean. Unfortunately, many Los Angeles residents don't even realize the city has a river -- let alone that it plays a vital role in the urban communities through which it passes. Thanks to partnerships between the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, the Los Angeles Conservation Corps and Friends of the Los Angeles River, the river is bringing fresh opportunities to a new generation of young adults, recreational opportunities to Angelenos and a new era of revitalization and wildlife conservation.
