I'm going to toss this one over to one of the writers, Brooke:
(TW: SEXUAL ASSAULT)
LAMBDA came out of a series of coffee dates between Jessie and me. It was in the heat of the Brett Kavanaugh trials and we found ourselves unable to think about much else. There is so much to unpack when talking about the complicated emotions around sexual assault. This landed around the 3 year anniversary of my own assault. It took me months to admit even to myself what had happened because I couldn't remember. And we realized this was the story to tell: the experience of processing. But then it went farther. We wanted to explore this not only from the perspective of the victim, but of someone close to the assaulter. As a woman, what is your responsibility if the person being accused is your best friend? Your brother? Therein birthed LAMBDA.
