Kyle Crichton is an Emmy-award winning documentary filmmaker, editor, college professor and post production supervisor. With a lifelong passion for telling stories since childhood, Kyle is deeply committed to storytelling from diverse perspectives. Kyle most recently edited and post production supervised the feature documentary Sabbath Queen, Executive Produced by Darren Aronofsky and directed by Sandi DuBowski. Spanning two decades, the documentary chronicles Amichai Lau-Lavie's transformative odyssey—from rebellious drag queen to pioneering queer father and ordained activist rabbi—reshaping Judaism amid the challenges of a rapidly evolving 21st century. Sabbath Queen garnered acclaim at Tribeca Film Festival and DC/DOX Festival and is currently on the festival circuit.
Kyle was previously co-director and co-editor on outdoor sports documentary, Leave Nice Tracks, which explores Vermont's vibrant backcountry skiing/snowboarding culture, focusing on sustainable initiatives led by the Ridgeline Outdoor Collective formerly known as the Rochester/Randolph Area Sports Trail Alliance (ROC) and the Catamount Trail Association (CTA).
Kyle served as consulting editor for the short documentary film Coming Home, co-directed by Alex Showerman and Katie Lozancich. The film captured the Most Inspiring award at the No Man's Land Film Festival in Denver and was selected to feature at the prestigious Mountain Film in Telluride. He also edited the documentary Angel Dose, directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Sami Khan. The film was selected for Mountain Film in Telluride and later aired on WHYY PBS Philadelphia, showcasing Kyle's skill in crafting compelling narratives for broadcast audiences. Kyle has also contributed to the post-production of films such as Going Nowhere, The Last Out, Unschooled, RATS, and others. Continuously expanding his skill set, Kyle thrives on exploring fresh perspectives and tackling projects that challenge and enrich his filmmaking expertise.

As dedicated to his outdoor adventures as he is to his filmmaking, Kyle seamlessly integrates his love for outdoor sports with his storytelling passion. When not chasing the perfect shot or refining narrative arcs, he cherishes time with his partner and daughter, sharing in their joy of discovery and adventure.
