  • I'm truly honored to have my horror feature "Box of Glass" win for best feature screenplay! Thank you so much!

  • It seems like festival really existed some years ago, seeing the photos from previous events and info from the website. But no anymore. This year (2022) our film was chosen. Yet no event were held at all. I received a link for so called screening page, but it looks super sketchy and cheap, asking for 100$ subscription (https://worldfilmpresentation.com)
Also I noticed that website of the festival has some troubles with text in Ukrainian (I am myself from Kyiv), looks like it was translated to Ukrainian from some other language, and the "address" of the festival is just a big mall. So, I really have no idea who are the creators of this and where are they from.
I'm honored to be selected anyway, but disappointed because there were no event and no festival (neither online nor offline). Maybe it was different previous years but the whole picture still looks very sketchy, better save your money.

    Response from festival:

First of all, thank you for the feedback you have given, which, once published, will automatically close the festival from the Filmreeway side. But if this does not happen by some miracle, the festival will continue its work. Filmfreeway is set up to neither protect nor support festivals, but only protect filmmakers and support these kinds of squealing messages that aim to destroy rather than build. Let's start with the fact that if you are really from Ukraine, then you know what is going on and happening there now. And there can be no talk of any real festival now held in any Ukraine theatre. Everything can only be done online. And the festival was held online. Here it is: https://worldfilmpresentation.com/KyivFilmFestival That is, films were chosen, they were shown to those who are registered on this aggregator and were awarded. Unregistered users like you will of course not see the films and the festival. You need to enter and regester on this agregator to see the festival. Regarding the pages of the site... Yes, we had a group of programmers and specialists who maintained the portal from Ukraine. But some of them simply left the places where they lived. Some were kiled. For example, here is just 1 video sent to us by one of our programmers about what happened to their houses and the street where they lived:
    http://skrinshoter.ru/s/020822/JDgJ93J5
(Youtube don't allow such videos - and if you need it - we can try to send it to you, but gmail can also block it). The f****** global system which controls everything in the world now - blockes everything that it against them.
If all this is not enough for you - write to us in support directly and stop slandering us through FilmFreeway. Although it doesn't matter. Since after such a slander as you wrote - Freefreeway blocks and closes the festivals anyway. By the way, this year he made our festival non-public, completely unaware of what is happening in Ukraine, and thus put a label that the festival is cursed and hated ... So, in fact, it was closed even before you ... Well, you their letter has already put a bold point. Well, as if finished off the corpse. But good luck to you, love. And God is your judge.

  • We're deeply honored to have won Best Script, thank you. That they did the festival in spite of the unfathomable challenges they face is truly remarkable. Courage and art go hand in hand. Thank you, Kyiv, for showing the world how to do it - and for putting on a fantastic festival!
