Director Biography - Peter Wangugi Gitau

I try to make my films be a reflection about art and storytelling as currencies for the sharing and enhancement of the characters’ experiences.

As a film enthusiast, he has worked collaboratively and individually on a variety of socially engaged interdisciplinary projects for over eight years. He has a decade's track record of producing video content for a variety of sectors ranging from humanitarian and development to health and education. His visual storytelling style has drawn audiences not only here in Kenya but globally as well.

With a mastery of the art, he has made several theatre productions, documentaries, and fiction films touching on social-economic issues in Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya. He also has worked with several NGOs on different film projects, among them; FilmAid International, World Food Program, Windle Trust Kenya, Population Services Kenya, and AMREF Health Africa. He has also directed award-winning Kenyan TV shows Pendo (2014-2016) and Pray & Prey (2014) among many others.
