K'uchu: A childhood place

Óscar begins to isolate himself in his playful childhood world. His best friend, Jesús, no longer wants to play after falling in love with Betsa, a schoolmate. Caught between leaving childhood behind or continuing to play alone, terrorist violence erupts, forcing Óscar to grow up overnight and abandon his hometown. Forty years later, he remembers it all as he walks along the highway back to his hometown, searching for food and shelter amid the COVID-19 crisis.

Director Biography - Alessio Del Pozo Temoche

I am passionate about animation. Since completing my graduate studies in audiovisuals, I have been focusing on developing new content as an illustrator, animator, and director in this amazing art form. Currently, I work as a director at Apus Estudio, where I have led various projects, including writing and directing the miniseries "Protegiendo el futuro de Sol", as well as music videos for notable artists such as Dj Illenium ("Starfall"), Kenia Os ("Toy Toy"), and Dj Frank Walker ("Madness"). Additionally, I directed a special video for Marvel Entertainment’s "Hawkeye", along with promotional content for Garena Freefire and Veefriends Master of the universe’s Skilled Skeleton. My work has been recognized as a finalist in Ideatoon for the series "Chek & Chan" and recently winner of Ibermedia next with my series project The Van.
As an independent director, I am glad to have had the opportunity to win awards at both national and international festivals. Including my self-distributed student short-films "ELLA" (2018), which won Best National Animation at the Ajayu International Animation Festival and was an official selection at several prestigious festivals. My subsequent works, "DIMENSIONES" (2020) and "EL SONIDO DEL SOL" (2021), have also garnered recognition, receiving multiple awards and official selections across various film festivals. I have also been awarded with the financial prize for animation short film production from the Peruvian Ministry of Culture. As a creator, I have also produced (as author and illustrator) an interactive children’s book "Rumi: Aventuras en el parque" and am currently planning the distribution of my professional opera prima short film, "K'uchu: a childhood place."
