Experiencing Interruptions?

KRYLA

KRYLA music video (to a poem by Lina Kostenko / Read by famous Bohdan Stupka) captures the modern Ukrainian perspective on war beyond its borders. It highlights the role of Ukrainians abroad in the ongoing struggle—not just as observers, but as active participants in preserving and sharing their culture, stories, and identity. The piece serves as a powerful reminder that victory requires more than hope; it demands unity and action. Through movement, the video inspires every Ukrainian, no matter where they are, to embrace their roots and contribute to the nation’s strength.

Director Biography - Anastasiia Lapko

Anastasiia Lapko was born in Dnipro, Ukraine. After school, she trained as a dancer and began her career as a choreographer. Her early experiences working on Tanu Muiño's music video projects inspired her to create her dance videos. Gaining on-set experience in music videos and commercials (MUSE, Virgin TV Media Ireland, DELL, ONUKA) provided her with a solid understanding of film production.

Following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Anastasiia became part of the largest wave of forced migration. While in Luxembourg, she decided to move forward and relocate to Ireland to expand her career into film directing. Currently, she is studying filmmaking, building a creative team, and gaining experience in music videos and short films. The war, viewed from abroad, has deeply influenced her artistic vision—a theme evident in her work.

Director Statement

This dance video reflects the modern Ukrainian attitude toward war beyond its borders. As the author, I want to show that Ukrainians who have gone abroad can still be part of the struggle—continuing to speak about our culture, people, and ever-growing stories. I am certain that this war will affect everyone, and the world must understand what Ukraine truly is.
This is a motivational dance video that emphasizes that simply believing in victory is not enough. Unity is essential. Every Ukrainian must recognize the Ukrainian grain within themselves—the essence that makes them part of the nation, even when far from home. And act.
