Krishnakali (20 Minutes 15 Seconds)
The film starts with the backdrop of Poushmela in Shantiniketan where a middle aged woman Krishnakali went with her son in vacation to meet her brother who lives in a village in Birbhum where Krishnakali brought up. In the next morning while in a conversation with her brother about the marriage of her son, her brother is surprised with her choice of bride and Krishnakali went through her memory lane of her brought up days while returning to Kolkata. This film not only tells a story of a dark skinned girl and her challenges due to so called outlook of the society but It also focuses on the fact that how this discrimination in the society, injects the the same outlook in victims' DNA - and it travels generation after generation - unfortunately the journey is still on. Does Krishnakoli finally succumbs to the societal pressure? The film unveils it all.

Sauvik Chattopadhyay, completed his master degree in Economics from JNU, New Delhi. He is trained in Script and Direction under the tutelage of film maker Debasish Sen Sharma at EQ School of Media and Communication. His filmiography includes bengali mini fiction film Mahanayak (2017), short fiction film Krishnakali(2018) and several corporate promotional films. He worked as music director in several dance drama and shortfilm like CHOBI (2015).
This film is an effort towards making social awareness about a serious issue in our society.
