SYNOPSIS
'The Chain' is an unsettling vision of the near future in which labour is brutally commodified. One unnecessary death pushes a tormented worker to question the status quo, but the system doesn’t fight fair…

ABOUT
The idea came about from listening to the track again and again, taking in the cyclical nature of the track and the monotonous existence of the factory workers, and is based on reading many horrific articles about mass labour in China.

The mix of green screen and CGI footage came about from the need to shoot in lockdown, and the desire to set the film in the near future, we wanted to achieve the scale and design, whilst keeping a real human element in the performances.
Meticulous planning was essential to create this on the tiny budget of £5k. It has taken one year to create, working on it nearly full time.
