In the relentless march of technology, indigenous crafts worldwide are facing extinction. Our enlightening visit to Kyoto with local artisans revealed the profound importance of handmade items and the extraordinary people behind these traditions.

This project was only supposed to be a small passion project but as soon as we met the first artisans (Masahiro and Michikazu Ikeuchi), we knew we had to meet others and create a short documentary.

Director Biography - Jason Luke Macalpine

Jason has been working in the media industry since 2014, honing his skills in filmmaking, photography and storytelling. He has worked for TV networks, marketing agencies and has been involved in just about every type of project there is that involves a camera.

Recently, he and his wife decided to start travelling and trying to create more passion projects. Films that really inspire Jase's creativity. This has helped remind him why he joined the industry in the first place and has ignited a new sense of passion.
