Kneipenkosmos
The german “Kneipe”. From the tiniest village to the biggest city everyone knows the “Kneipe”. A lot of prejudice and stereotypes cast a cloud over these german pubs so we made this movie to engage with these tiny places within our cities and to meet the people spending their days behind these doors.

Yannik Wiedwald is a young filmmaker and director from Germany. Since his childhood he has been interested in cinema and film in general. So it wasn't particularly difficult for him to turn to his passion - filmmaking - after he finished school. At the moment he is in training as a film and media designer and has directed various short film projects.
I´ve been fascinated by the outsiders of society all my life. I always seek to find the different or interesting and in this film i did exactly that.
Probably everyone in germany knows these shady places called "Kneipe".
Two years ago i was addicted to gambling and often went to these places to put my money in the slot machine. There i met a lot of different people. Businessmen, janitors, former prison inmates and local legends...
I overcame my addiction along the way but the fascination stayed. So i decided to make this film, not to portray people like animals in a zoo but to share the stories they are willing to share.
