Manu and Polly Engel (Christopher Reinhardt and Merle Collet) are waking up from a blackout – locked in a basement. The Engels had been the number one YouTube-couple and their break-up disappointed hundreds of thousands of fans, especially the fanatical Justus. He has abducted his stars and is demanding something rather unusual for their release. The series was made with YouTubers for YouTube.

Director Biography - Oliver Alaluukas

Oliver Alaluukas was born 1984 and worked as an actor in theaters from 2001 to 2008. After he became a camera man and made his first direction work, he studied at the Film University Babelsberg from 2012-2016. His short films “Der Postbote” and “Präsenzlücke” were screened at many national and international festivals. His first feature and graduation film at the Film University Babelsberg “Rakete Perelman” had its first run at the 38. film festival Max Ophüls Preis and came to german cinemas in November 2017. Klicknapped is Olivers first series.
