Dr Kiresh Bedhesi (Johannesburg, South Africa 1994) began his filmmaking in 2019 with short form passion projects.
While working as a medical doctor in Johannesburg's psychiatric and emergency units, Bedhesi found his calling for creating authentic stories.
He resigned from the medical world and graduated from AFDA Film School (cum laude) in 2022 and worked as an Assistant Director Trainee on Netflix One Piece (2023), as well as multiple short films with his film school lecturers.
Wilting of the Blood Orchid is the first official film under Kiresh's belt, which he wrote, directed and produced himself by working as a General Practitioner in Kuilsriver, Cape Town. It has gone on to win awards both locally and internationally.
Kiresh has now directed several critically-acclaimed short films under his production company, Mad Doc Pictures and currently works as a director for major international brands (Audi, L'Oréal Paris, Marriot) and SABC reality TV shows (My Design Rules, Taste Master, Tropika Island of Treasure).
With a mind for rich storytelling and an eye for cinematic shot composition, Kiresh is one of the latest visionary filmmakers.
