Kindling
KINDLING is a collection of four short experimental film poems, which reflect on the relationship between inner and outer landscapes. Kindling is the croaking of a raven, the rustle of leaves, it searches for beauty, allegories, borders and edges. It was created through the collaboration of four authors between 2018-2019. The aim of these authors was to explore the boundaries between film (visual) and music composition (audio). The outcome of this collaboration are four films, each very different, depending on the authors approach to the subject (from musical abstraction to documentary), which are connected by their admiration of the filmscape and each have a strong distinct approach to sound and music. The films are more about rhythm and movement, ten narrative. The storytelling is not linear, it comes in flashes, or dives in deep.
Kindling is ideally presented as a concert, with accompanying live music. This way each projection is special, unrepeatable through the musical improvisations. It can also be presented as a collection of short films with a common theme or as four individual short films.
