Director Biography - Sarah Gross

Sarah Gross is an award-winning director based out of Los Angeles who has directed, written, and produced commercials and short films for clients, such as Pepsi, UGG, Fashion Rocks, Jaunt VR, and others. She is known for crafting character-driven work with emotional resonance, arresting visuals, and provocative themes. Her interest lies in developing action, thriller, and science-fiction films with psychologically rich characters and female-centric narratives.

Sarah’s sci-fi/action short film BOLÉRO was a finalist for the 2019 Student Academy Awards, won a USC First Look Industry Award, and played at Telluride Film Festival and Fantastic Fest, among other Oscar Qualifying festivals.

Sarah is currently attached to direct five feature films, including THE STRANGE FASCINATIONS OF NOAH HYPNOTIK, a hyper-visual teen adventure movie for Paramount with Gotham Group attached to produce. She is also attached to the sci-fi/thriller ROGUE PLANET, set up at Broken Road Productions, the psychological thriller THE HALFWAY INITIATIVE, and the rape-revenge flick ESTHER JONAS, set up at Creator Media. Sarah is currently developing BOLÉRO into a feature with writer SJ Inwards attached to pen the script.

Sarah received her M.F.A. in directing from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and is represented by WME.
