Killer Love

Killer Love is a comedy/horror short film about sour break ups. It's about ill-advised couples counseling, love, trust, lust and revenge. It's about the masked killer in the woods, ready to take an axe to your head if you can't sort your shit out.

It's about two couples, Violet and Henry, and Martin and Sasha, all looking for their own perfect weekend away, not knowing of course that Violet has promised the perfect weekend to her one true, and far less friendly, love. Hearts will be broken.

Director Statement

Killer Love plays with the tropes of both horror and comedy films. While it has a typical slasher that bursts out of the woods and tears people apart, this is seen as the natural conclusion of their relationships – the literal ‘breakup’. We’re taking on universal themes – love, relationships, lust, loss, and how it all feels - within the framework of horror films. The film is personal for me, as it comes from my experiences of a relationship breakdown, and by keeping it personal I hope that the audience will engage with the honesty and connect it to their own experiences.

Killer Love is a story that I love. I am passionate about genre cinema. This short film will portray my cinematic intent for future projects as I look to take the leap into feature films. I want to tell over the top stories for loud and enthusiastic audiences. I believe that with Killer Love, and the telling of honest and vulnerable stories within the genre space, I have found what I want my cinematic voice to become.
