Kids Dance Flix is a dance film festival for families launched by Dance Film SF, presenter of the San Francisco Dance Film Festival. This one-day offshoot features animated and live action dance films curated for young audiences, as well as original dance films made by youth.

Live performances, family-friendly activities, and introductory dance workshops accompany the screenings, all at the historic Brava Theater Center in SF’s Mission District. Kids Dance Flix emphasizes Dance Film SF’s nonprofit mission to bring dance to new audiences through the presentation and development of dance-based media.

Dance-based films of any genre or dance style will be considered, with young audiences in mind. Content must be appropriate for young children, without violence or other inappropriate language or behavior.

Youth filmmakers must be under 18 years of age at time of completed production. Filmmakers will be required to ensure that films containing copyrighted material by anyone other than the filmmaker have legal clearance for the material to be used.
