Director Statement

Sandeep Dhumal, the producer of this documentary film, is a wild-life photographer who has dedicated a significant part of his life to researching, documenting and conserving the abundant and unique wildlife of Ladakh. Sandeep came to me one day, visibly disturbed. He showed me a photograph. It was a carcass of a Eurasian Lynx, one of the rarest of the species. The magnificent mountain cat had been killed by a pack of feral dogs. Sandeep proceeded to tell me the gravity of this issue. The discussion then led us to researching on the problem of feral dogs, or free ranging stray dogs and that is how this film was made. We do not claim to be experts on the topic. We just wanted to get on the field and talk to those who know the ground reality, those who have suffered.
This film is a representation of the data we have gathered so far.
