I am Payal, a Film and Video Communication student at the National Institute of Design, India. I come from a village in Uttar Pradesh, India. I believe in the power of storytelling and self-expression. When there is a need to express, an urge to tell a story then film, poetry, and people become the medium to bring it out in the world.
The documentary is a slice of the life of three women living in a village in Uttar Pradesh, India. In a patriarchal society, sitting outside or simply going out for a walk is not a thing. This film is about Geeta, Usha, and Lucy, housewives, who work all day and wait for the evening so that they can go out and live in their fictionalized world for some time. The journey shows the contrast between their emotions, conversations, and life at home vs the life they have outside when they go for a walk. The film shows how space plays an important role in women's life and female friendship, the bond women share, the support they get from each other, and the comfort they feel when they are together.
