Keryās
Based on a true story...
"In the mid-nineteenth century, a merchant boy from Boroujerdi family fell in love with the daughter of the Tabatabaei family who were well-known merchants residing in the city of Kashan in the center of Iran.
The father of the family agreed with this marriage only on condition that the boy builds a house similar to his glamorous castle.
It took seven years for the boy, who had genuinely lost his heart to the girl, to fully construct the "Boroujerdi" house, to impress the father.
The couple lived together in the same place for decades.

Fatemeh Fereydoun
Fatemeh Fereydoun was born on February 15, 1992 in Tehran. She spent her bachelor and masters' degree in directing from 2011 to 2018. During this period and after completing her diploma course in theatre, she directed 5 theater plays in Iran.
After working in theater, Fereydoun turned to cinema in both her academic and professional fields, beginning with the editing of films, documentaries, and commercials. By now, she has directed three short films which one is a documentary and two others are drama. In addition to directing, she has appeared as an assistant director, actor and editor in some films. Her first film, "Camion", was able to participate in prestigious festivals such as Woods Hole, Roshd, International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Isfahan, International Kids Film Festival (IKFF), BAM Kids Film Festival and Seattle Children's Festival.
Behind the façade of every historic edifice, there is a story and every story needs a storyteller and I want to be the storyteller of these houses. I was drawn to the idea of depicting the emotions and events without human presence.
For this film in particular, I decided to direct it due to my passion for Iranian traditional music and architecture. I tried to reflect the beauty of an artistic piece from Qājar era with my camera and I wanted the viewer to travel with it to the history of these houses and experience the identity which comes with this period’s architecture.
Narrating this story though was not without hurdles, Limited finance of an independent film did not help our team to enjoy elaborate professional technical equipment, but we tried our best to make it happen.
I hope, the global presentation of this film make more people hear about Iran‘s culture and art.
