Kenneth Willim is a creative undergraduate studying a Bachelor of Media Arts (Honours) at UNSW Art & Design. Majoring in filmmaking, he uses narrative structures in motion picture and photography to investigate human relationships, not only with one another, but also with the world that surrounds them.
He was appointed Director of Photography for the short film, Aurora, a submission for the 2016 Vois Magazine film festival; the major event TEDx UNSW in 2017, and more recently a mini-documentary series, St Patrick’s Church Hill: These 200 Years. He also writes and directs his own short films. He is currently directing a short film, Gestures, slated for release in early 2019.
He has long had a deep appreciation for cinema and various forms of narrative, especially by the works of Christopher Nolan, Steven Spielberg and Quentin Tarantino. This appreciation has been translated into his style of photography, writing and directing, which allows for a narrative structure to be presented in each shot, frame, and click of the shutter.
