Karma S Paljor is a celebrated award-winning journalist and entrepreneur from Sikkim. A two-time winner of the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism and the 2010 winner of Indiantelevision.com's Reporter of the Year, Karma's experience in journalism spans over two decades. He started his career with The Times of India but his first brush with broadcast journalism was with CNBC TV18 where he spent 5 years. He was also the founding team member of CNN News18 where he spent over a decade heading various teams and programmes. He co-founded Atvi Infotainment, a content creation company in 2018. The business verticals include EastMojo.com and Atvi Studios. With EastMojo Karma took to the director's chair where he led several documentaries be it social, political or environmental issues. Aranya Prahari - Keepers of the Wild is his latest project that highlights the role of communities in protecting the environment.
The documentary puts some of the indigenous population of Northeast India and their inspiring efforts towards conservation on the spotlight. The primary focus is on how these communities are leading the charge against climate change where we follow their journey, showcasing the daily lives and challenges they face in their conservation work. Through their stories, we illustrate the vital role they play as custodians of India’s natural wealth.
