Katerina Hoyo-Frederickson is a Greek-American filmmaker, who has a background in non-profit management and teaching. She has written, directed, and produced 5 short films. Katerina produced 22 short films, produced the series Bombshell (2019), Bound by Vendetta (2023) and coordinated, as well as 1st and 2nd assistant directed for Moonbug’s T-Rex Ranch, MyGo! Originals, and ASL Dubs shows (2021). She line produced the features The Jungle Book (2019), Hercules, Houdini, Holmes (2018), currently on Amazon Prime, and co-produced Gimme My Money (2024) and The Mermaid (2024).
Katerina graduated with Bachelor degrees in French from California State University, San Bernardino and Digital Filmmaking & Video Production, from the Art Institute. She earned her Executive Masters in Business Administration and certificate in Project Management from University of California, Riverside, and a Masters in Fine Arts in Producing at the American Film Institute, in Los Angeles. She also works as Development Director for the non-profit organization, Los Angeles Greek Film Festival and their Global Greek Film Initiative. Both a U.S. and E.U. citizen, she speaks fluent English, Greek, and French, studied international business at the University of Paris, Dauphine in France, and LaVerne University in Athens, Greece. She completed field studies in international business in China and worked teaching English in South Korea and France. Her joy is in creating stories that connect us, collaborating, and using her business savvy to make stories come to life.
