Katherine Choong has built an impressive climbing résumé. Former member of the Swiss national sport climbing team, she became junior world champion in 2009 and earned in parralel a law degree from the University of Neuchâtel in 2016. She made history as the first Swiss woman to climb a route graded 9a.
Beyond competition, Katherine has achieved the first female ascents of several challenging multi-pitch routes, including 6.4 Sekunden (8b/+ max., 170 m), Hattori Hanzo (8b+ max., 7 pitches) and Zahir (8b+ max., 300m).
Passionate about social and environmental causes, she is also an ambassador for ClimbAID and Protect Our Winters Switzerland, using her platform to advocate for a more sustainable and inclusive climbing community.
