My goal is to tell stories that affect people emotionally to make a change for the better, fiction or nonfiction.
Kat Hernandez was born and raised in the DFW metroplex in Texas. Hernandez graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor's degree in film with a minor in broadcast journalism in 2023.
Hernandez has had a long passion for diverse and creative storytelling which has stayed with her since childhood. No matter the form of media, Hernandez has wanted to be a storyteller. She grew up in a mixed household with her Hispanic mother and American stepfather and was raised in a globalized setting with a diverse education. She has a long record of writing short stories and spending hours writing complete and complex story treatments for fun with many ideas she desires to tell.
While at UCA, she worked on many projects to learn and advance as I discovered who she wanted to be in film. She has worked in many roles in all stages of film production and decided to become a writer and producer. Hernandez has worked as a producer and a writer for five films, with total work credits of around eight. Along with film, she has also worked as a writer and producer for the UCA broadcast news station. Hernandez wants to tell stories that affect people emotionally to make a change for the better, fiction or nonfiction.
