Kamali From Nadukkaveri

Kamali, 17, is a student doing her 11th in her native village’s government school. She falls in love with the state topper in 12th, Ashwin, whom she doesn't know, but is impressed by his achievement of getting admitted to IIT Madras. Her admiration for him turns into infatuation and she decides that she too should study hard to join IIT Madras and to make him love her back.

With the mentoring of a retired IIT professor, Nambi, who is not initially interested to teach, but she convinces him and with enormous hard work she also gets a placement in IIT. It motivates Nambi to educate more students.

Kamli and Ashwin are now studying in IIT Madras but he does not know that she has been in love with him. Enamoured of her love, she fails to focus on her studies. Rather than getting attracted to her, he gets repelled by her lack of focus and insults her. She gets upset and gets back to her village, where she witnesses that Nambi is now aggressively committed to teach more students because of the inspiration she aroused and is moved by his faith in her.

Kamali now completely focuses on her studies only and gives up all efforts at impressing Aswin. IIT Madras selects Kamli and Ashwin to participate in a quiz competition, but he is convinced that she is not clever enough to participate. IIT Madras wins because of her talent. Aswin now realizes her talent and love.
