Kabir is a multiple award-winning and internationally recognized writer and director. He honed his skills in storytelling at an offbeat liberal arts college, Hampshire College in Amherst, USA falling in love with techniques of East-European Theatre artists such as Stanislavsky, Grotowski and Meyerhold.
His first short film, 'Maya, Maya, Who art thou?,' attempts to answer the quintessential existential question, 'Who am I?' and does so beautifully, exhibiting a divine understanding of the nature of man/woman. The film was an instant success on the festival circuit winning numerous awards for screenplay, direction, acting and music.
Kabir believes that if you strip down filmmaking to its bare bones, taking away all the stylistic elements, all there really has to be, 'is a darn good story that's worth telling.'
