Like the calm and collective character of ‘John Keating’ (Robin Williams) in the renowned ‘Dead Poets Society’ mixed with a bit of ‘Madhatter’ played by Johnny Depp in ‘Alice in Wonderland (2010) might be the easiest way to describe this Film Director/Producer/Writer;
Rogerio Alberto de Oliveira.

Since childhood, Rogerio has shown his creative skills as he drew fictional characters on his parents’ white leather lounge suite. His passion did however get him into some trouble ;)
He pursued art at school and eventually studied Fine Art at WITS Technicon from 1993-1995. In 1996, Rogerio went to study Graphic Design & Photography at Benoni College. He is currently doing his MFA through AFDA.

His passion for music urged him to build his first recording studio in 1992. After his studies, he worked in various advertising companies as a graphic designer. In 2001 he ventured off to gain some international experience in London and he worked for a Production house called
Big Onion. He traveled most of Europe and met very interesting people during his travels. One person, in particular, stood out, and this person was the reason why Rogerio trailed after his career in film. This person was the world-famous film director, Sydney Pollack.
Rogerio adhered to Mr. Pollack’s advice to venture off into film directing.

Once back in South Africa, Rogerio started his own company called, RAD Productions in 2005, which is still going strong. RAD Productions worked with clients such as Tiger Brands, IEC, Velocity Films, Faith Productions, LDP, MTN, to name a few.
