As a lover of horror, I’m not often afraid. However, I can vividly remember the moment when - on my monotonous commute to my unfulfilling day job - I was genuinely shook. It was a random day in 2018 and I was listening to my beloved NPR, when I heard a story about how iPhones are listening to us through Siri. Ad companies use what we say and what we carelessly type to our friends to cater ad content to us. Our. Phones. Are. Always. Listening. And that’s scary as shit. The more I thought about this bizarre technological reality, the more I knew what it felt like to be afraid of the world we have created for ourselves. This is, KMS.
