KINGS OF THE SKY
This is a story of Balinese kites, story of tradition, brotherhood and respect of nature.
Flying kites in Bali is a sacred religious tradition to show gratitude to Gods and request a bountiful harvest or “Rare Angon.”
Host of the film, Nikola Kostic will take the audience backstage in preparation for Bali Kite Festival. We'll visit the kite pilots, chat with the owner of biggest kite that ever flu in Bali - 250m/800kg
Film is dedicated to Jonatan Socher (1939 - 2019).
Kite builder from Hawaii, competitor in Bali Kite Festival
in the 90's. I got really lucky I had an uncle who was filming
Jonatan during his visit to Bali Kite Festival in July, 1996.
I'll just say this story of smallest kite in the world, is
a part of this film and it is animated.
Hope you'll enjoy this film,
Nikola kostic

After 25 years spend in photography, new chapter of my life begins...film.
New chapter great, is it scary yes, do I suck, I sure hope not.
Originally from Belgrade, Serbia however due to 90's in my country, I made move to Bali, Indonesia. That was in 1998.
Highlights...there were many, for me the biggest one raising my family here in Bali.
It took 25 years to finally start telling stories in rock and roll style...I am human, therefore not perfect.
After years spend on the road all around the globe (highlight was publishing 14 books), I have found what was there all along. Indonesia and its people, I aim to tell their stories.
Currently working on documentary about building family home and art museum on desserted Island in Komodo, Indonesia.
Project has been going on for 3 years and it will take 2 more to accomplish.
Thank you for your time,
Nikola Kostic
I have an idea.
