Justin T. Malone is a rising filmmaker with an eye for the grotesque, profane, and darkly humorous. Working in the Southern Gothic literary tradition, Justin's films typically focus on working class rural Southerners like the people he grew up around in West Tennessee.
Justin’s films have been selected to dozens of film festivals across the country. In 2020, his feature length screenplay The Devil’s Workshop was selected as a quarter-finalist for the ScreenCraft Drama Screenplay contest, and he was a finalist for the University Film and Video Association’s Carole Fielding Grant in recognition of ROADKILL.
Justin was recently awarded a $13,000 grant through the Indie Memphis Film Festival’s IndieGrant program to assist in the development and production of an upcoming short film. Beware of Goat is a dark comedy, now beginning its festival run in 2023. It is an official Selection of the Pasadena International and Big Apple Film Festivals, and on Best Comedy at the Tonkawa Film Festival.
