Just Two Drops

Ironically, in an area full of poverty, drugs and crime, a loving mother (Samantha) becomes the biggest problem, after she is left by the love of her life and starts to believe she has found the solution to her problems in a bottle of acid.

After saving a boy from being attacked by the acid, being chased by his enemies and framed by his own sister, Reece finds himself wrongfully locked up for the murder of his own nephew. Having to come to terms with the loss and betrayal whilst also fighting for his life and freedom isn’t ideal for anyone. But it’s the cards Reece gets dealt and somehow he always seems to have an ace up his sleeve.

Director Biography - Theo Johnson

Theo Johnson started out as an actor playing series regular 'Callum' in Channel 4's "RAISED BY WOLVES", and lead character 'Jay' in "GAP" at the National Theatre.

Most recently he has featured in "THE INTENT 2" on Netflix, comedy "ON THE OTHER FOOT" as well as the 1st black BBC iPlayer radio drama called "JESUS PIECE", 'Darren' in BBC "DOCTORS" and a celebrity cameo in the "BLUE STORY MOVIE" by Rapman.

Instead of just waiting for the phone to ring, a few years back Theo decided to take matters into hist own hands and started writing scripts and building quite a big following online through viral comedy sketches and short films.

Theo wrote, directed and starred in his own short films. The films have grossed over a million views on YouTube and made BBC News for their positive message and strong storyline. Helping him to land a "THINK" advert and his latest short "JUST ONE DROP" on Amazon Prime.

After building over 90K followers on Instagram Theo started presenting for brands like LinkUp TV, Nike and Boohoo Man, hosting his own games shows that he wrote like "RELATIONSHIP GOALZ" which got over 10 million views across all platforms.

All the above has helped Theo to make BBC 1xtra HISTORY as the first radio presenter to have his own 1xtra show airing outside of London, every Sunday 10pm till midnight.

Director Statement

I grew up in a very rough environment and a lot of people in my area was involved in criminal activity, but they always used to tell me to choose a different path, Said that “they wished they stayed in school”, and always tried to push a positive message and keep me away from crime. However on the news and in our Tv shows, it always shows the drug dealer doing mean things, corrupting and grooming the youth but that wasn't my experience. I felt like shedding light on the other side of the coin, as someone could know that they're doing wrong but want better for you.
 
I wrote Just one drop to raise awareness of the cause and effects of serious crime and to show that even though you’re coming from a dark place and you might be doing bad things, you can always find goodness in your heart if you search deep enough and help others. I was going stop at part one and move on to my other stories, but it done so well online hitting a million views and had such an effect on people that two years later, people were still calling me Reece (The characters name) and messaging every other day for a part two and that really meant something to me, so I decided to give the people what they want.
 
A record label hit me up, promising big money in return for my intellectual property. I respectfully declined and it just gave me even more motivation to get this done because if they were willing to pay to take it, I knew it must be really valuable. When I started writing part two, I fell in love with the script and could feel my growth as a Writer/Director. Just Two Drops is a journey, I tried to show that we’re all human, none of us are just one way or the other, we’re all very three-dimensional.

Just Two Drops takes the main character Reece through a different journey. Reece has gone from being feared and respected to being hated and wrongfully accused of killing a child whilst living in the the worse place to be a child killer, prison. You see Reece go through his ups and downs and come out at the other end. I know in part one, you may have felt like he was a bit of a bully or you might not have liked him but in this one, I’m sure your opinion will change when you see what he goes through.
