Ada’s passion for storytelling led them to the world of theatre and film. As a pathfinder and lover of adventure and poetry, their craft in cinematography and screenwriting are influenced by their lived experience as a 1st generation, queer immigrant of colour from Hong Kong. They work in radiology as a 'medical photographer' - so to speak - for the past ten years and in 2023, they completed the Film Production program at Langara College in Vancouver, Canada. They look forward to write and produce more independent short films and documentaries. They are based in Vancouver and Toronto, Canada.
Just Say It is a short film based on the humans and life events that occurred in the past thirty one years of my life. A tribute to my dad, this graduation piece was made to be a well-made heirloom for the family. The story was written with both scripted lines and treatment style curated performance. Inspired by the technique of direct cinema, the improvised performance was live action recorded with handheld techniques. Born in Hong Kong, raised in Markham, Ontario in Canada, to screen this at film festival in Toronto will be a meaningful gathering of old and new friends and family.
