At the beginning of summer, Maude and Lou find themselves alone at boarding school, before Lou leaves forever. The things they haven't said and the fears they've repressed for long gently spread between them, like secrets whispered in the ear of a confidante.

Director Biography - Lili Back

Lili Back is a 25-year-old French director. She is currently completing her final year of a master's degree at the Institut des Arts de Diffusion in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, where she is specialising in filmmaking and making her graduation film "32 juin".

Lili Back captures simple moments in life, focusing on the beauty of small things, fleeting moments of happiness and intimate emotions. Her subtle cinematic language provokes reflection on deeper subjects such as grief, the end of things, the passage of time, fear of emptiness, loneliness and eco-anxiety, while retaining a certain gentleness that doesn't weigh on the viewer.

Director Statement

Today, the future seems rather frightening and unstable, from an ecological, economic, geopolitical, social and health point of view. In my film, I want to bear witness, on a small scale, to this universal anxiety by recounting the end of a young girl's secondary education, her struggle against the uncertainty of the future, and her sweet encounter with another woman who, as best she can, tries to avoid thinking about it.
