Judy Drosd is an independent producer currently producing, co-directing, shooting and editing a series of oral histories based on the work of artist, activist, satirist Joey Skaggs.
Previously, she produced Art of the Prank, the award-winning documentary film based on the life and work of Skaggs which has been in international distribution since 2017.
In past incarnations, she served as vice president of production at HBO in New York, where she supervised the production of feature films, television series, documentaries, live entertainment specials, and sports programs; Chief Officer, Arts, Film & Entertainment for the State of Hawaii, where she was responsible for creative industry strategic planning and supervision of the Hawaii Film Office; Film commissioner for the island of Kauai in Hawaii, where she attracted and facilitated production of over 700 feature films, television shows and still photo shoots; Founder of the Kauai Institute for Communications Media which, partnering with the American Film Institute (AFI), hosted international conferences on the intersection of filmmaking and new technologies; and an independent producer of documentary films.
