Experiencing Interruptions?

Judith

Judith Baltimore’s husband wants a divorce. She does not. What does the man want? He doesn’t seem to know, but he has an appointment tomorrow with a lawyer. Judith is determined, then, to solve the mystery. What do men truly want from women? She embarks on a journey into the heart of downtown Portland, posing the question to many, including a street preacher, a drug dealer, a jazz musician, a would-be rapist, a dancing oracle, and a homeless man. She gets her answer. And the answer is so simple, really, compared to the mysteries she’s unearthed in herself.

Director Statement

Judith is the first in a trilogy of films about marriage, that most bizarre of institutions which functions as, at once, a vehicle of bliss and security, the most socially accepted arena of propagation, and, lastly, a maze wherein the soul is confounded by the infinite variations of the human heart.
