Journey of Endless Time
A visual journey beyond the boundaries of Time, Journey of Endless Time is a new production which bridges the gap between art films and cinematography. Produced and created by visual artist Pietro Reviglio, using abstract painting, cosmological imagery and animation techniques, the film explores the concept of existence, eternity and their meaning for humanity.
The film has no dialogs, just a soundtrack. It was made in 2K (DCP) but it is also available in 4K resolution for giant screen projection. The music is by British composer Jonathan Wright.
The film has premiered at the China Science and Technology Museum as part of the 9th Beijing International Film Festival. It has been selected for the Rome Independent Prisma Awards where it has been semifinalist in the category of short animated film. The European premiere was held at the 17th Signes de Nuit International Film Festival in Paris in 2019.

Born in Turin, Italy, in 1976, Pietro Reviglio has worked extensively with painting, photography and experimental filmmaking, exhibiting in institutions, museums and film festivals around the world. His work is held in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum (NYC) , Albright-Knox Gallery (Buffalo), Tate (London), Columbia University (NYC), among the others. In this project he draws from his background in art and astrophysics (Columbia University, Ph.D., 2008) to investigate time and existence further. He currently lives and works in London, UK.
The topics of time, existence and the place of humanity in the cosmos are of great fascination to me. Exploring them visually was the challenge I undertook with Journey of Endless Time.
As a film, Journey of Endless Time delves into the mystery of existence and explores its meaning. It is informed by recent development in cosmology. I was particularly interested in the concept of representing the infinity of time, and perhaps existence, within the finite medium of film.
After an early invitation to show it as part of the Beijing International Film Festival, the film has been developed as a bridge between western and eastern cultures and their common destiny from a cosmological perspective.
From a technical point of view, I wanted this film to blur the boundaries among painting, film, music and cosmology, and experiment with the possibilities of bringing together different media to describe the mystery of time and existence without resorting to conventional narratives.
