Joshua Michael founder and CEO of Selway Studios was born in Southern California, the eldest of four brothers, and is now the father of four children. He is a 12-year military veteran who served as a combat medic in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom receiving an honorable discharge in 2005 due to injuries sustained during his service. . Growing up in an artistic and theater emboldened family it seemed inevitable Joshua Michael would develop a passion for film direction. Seeking to advance his knowledge and expertise in film he graduated from Evergreen college in 2012 with a BA degree in film production. In 2010 he established Area 51 Productions a precursor to Selway Studios. Desiring to go beyond his undergraduate degree Joshua graduated in 2015 with a Master’s Degree in Instructional Design and Technology.

Challenges have been welcomed by Joshua Michael. Later, in October of 2018, Joshua moved his family to Hamilton, Montana. There he opened a film production company and an academy to work and train veterans and students interested in learning film production. Then in 2020 he founded Selway Studios and is currently working on producing; music videos, short films, training videos, documentaries, and a feature-length film.
