Eddie, from Flatbush and Canarsie, tries to survive in his drug and crime-ridden neighborhood, while Christina is from Crown Heights, destined for higher education and success, though she struggles to stay focused on her plan to achieve her dreams. A real-life urban fairy tale that compels you to find out how they follow fate to begin their lives together to find their happily ever after.

Director Statement

A lifelong cinema lover, my love of films started in early childhood, watching movies all the time with my brothers on VHS tapes or at the movie theater. As kids in the 80s, we watched Disney classics on a Fisher Price projector and screened them for all the kids that visited our home. We also recited the movie lines from countless movies such as Coming to America, Home Alone, House Party, New Jack City, and Friday. To have the opportunity to make films now is awe-inspiring.

"Joined by Fate" is a documentary about my true love story with my husband, Eddie, and our 23-year marriage and is based on the book "The Story of Christina and I". We started from high school sweethearts in Brooklyn, NY to a military family and now filmmakers. We wanted to share our journey and the message that love is possible even when you think all is lost. An inspiring message that can stand the test of time.
