Born in London England, Joel’s professional career began with successful auditions as a keyboard player for a music management company for local urban artists such as Ronny Jordan. This affiliation opened doors to multiple world tours as keyboard player, Musical Director in addition to writing and producing Ronny Jordan’s future albums. With recognition of his skill and talent he has gone on to tour with artists such as Des'ree,The Eurythmics, Tina Turner and Janet Jackson.
With his creative production skills being recognised in the industry, Joel left the live music scene and was recruited by a New York production company to write and produce content for commercial artists such as Carole King, Naughty by Nature, Luther Vandross, Joe, Bebe Winans, Brian Mcknight and Omarian. Grammy nominated “Coming Back Home” was co-written by Joel as well as Billboard chart #1 “Let's stay home tonight” by Joe.
Relocating to Montreal, Joel continued to commute to New York to record with various artists , however he also began working with local artists. The Imani Gospel Singers recruited Joel to produce their debut album. International artist and entrepreneur Chantal Chamandy hired Joel to musically direct “BALADI NIGHT AT THE PYRAMIDS “ with the Cairo Symphony, as well as score the independent movie “Hit By Lightning” starring John Cryer, Stephani Szostak and Will Sasso. He went on to join Tina Turner for her last ever world tour, to which he holds as the high point of his career thus far, as well as “This is it” official Michael Jackson tribute tour.
Joel recently scored the award winning documentary series Who’s Behind Black Art and has been recruited to compose the score for the upcoming documentary Color. He continues to collaborate and release content with local and international artists.
