During a chaotic shift in the ER, I once had an observant & curious patient say to me ~ "Oh the stories you could tell!" I instinctively replied in my own mind ~ "Oh the stories that I WILL tell!”
For over a decade emerging screenwriter Jodi J has simultaneously juggled two very different careers - Television Actor & Critical Care Nurse. Although extremely unrelated occupations, both require a big smile, strength of character, persistence and resilience.
It was when she was cast in a Medical Drama Series that she caught a glimpse of an alternate path. This happenstance gifted her with an unforeseen light bulb moment. She realized this script flowed for her, she understood the jargon, the dialogue, the tone, she even recognized the subtle undertones. It was in that moment that her professional writing journey began.
A recent Dean's List Graduate of George Brown's Screenwriting & Narrative Design Program, Jodi J is pouring all of her passion & knowledge of both careers into her authentic voice as a Screenwriter. She has discovered her true niche.

At one point in time Jodi J went by the actor name of Eve Edwards. At that time her son Ethan was also an actor, but he was a minor. They landed their first National commercial together, but separate. Intrigued? What does that even mean? Well, Jodi J was hired to play a younger child's mom & Ethan was hired to play a different actors son. Meaning, together but separate because they were in the same National Commercial, filming on the same days but not in any scenes together. So why the Actor Stage name you ask? Both of their Actor Stage names were prompted Jodi J's Police Officer husband who was uncomfortable with his wife & son using their true last name in the media. Their agent at the time helped with the name selection.
